HP used its tenth anniversary in additive manufacturing to introduce the Multi Jet Fusion 1200, an entry-level system due in 2027. It has a 12-liter build volume, relies on gravity-fed and manual powder handling instead of pneumatic transport, runs on a standard outlet and launches with PA12.
3DPrint.com puts the price at about $48,000 for the printer alone, or roughly $60,000 with build-prep software and an unpacking station. HP is also adding a high-productivity mode and two-tone white-and-grey printing to the Jet Fusion 5600, new PA12 variants, and more Metal Jet materials.
HP says its additive business has grown about 30% year over year for two straight years, and service bureaus make up roughly 60% of its customers. The company is courting small and midsize manufacturers it hasn't served before and is targeting a 50% cut in total cost of ownership within three years.
