Fujifilm and ePac Flexible Packaging have announced a global strategic alliance centered on deploying Fujifilm's J Press FP790 across ePac's network. The FP790 is a water-based inkjet press designed for higher-volume flexible packaging work.
The first North American installation is at ePac's new facility in Phoenix, Arizona, and later phases call for additional presses across the company's global operations. ePac says the press will raise throughput while keeping its short-run, on-demand capabilities.
The press prints at 1200 x 1200 dpi, covers more than 90% of the Pantone gamut and supports recyclable material structures. The companies did not disclose press counts, capacity figures or financial terms.
