Roland DG has launched two UV direct-to-object systems: the VersaObject IO-300, an industrial flatbed with a 30 x 20-inch print area, and the VersaObject RC-300 series for cylindrical and tapered items. Both are built for high-mix, short-run and customized work.

The IO-300 reaches up to 37.6 square feet per hour in standard CMYK mode and supports multilayer printing with tight registration for jobs such as control panels, nameplates and cosmetic packaging. Supported substrates range from polycarbonate and acrylic to glass, aluminum and stainless steel.

The RC-300 prints helically on bottles, tumblers and cans, and the RC-300c variant adds support for clear or pre-filled containers; Roland DG says a 20-ounce tumbler takes about a minute under its test conditions. Both run EUV-H inks and are sold through authorized partners, with no pricing listed.
