Superior Tape & Label completes third Weigang flexo press in Oregon

The Gresham converter standardized on one Weigang build across three presses in 16 months to keep output and workflows consistent.

Superior Tape & Label of Gresham, Ore., finished installing its third Weigang flexographic press in June 2026, its third Weigang installation in 16 months. The converter produces pressure-sensitive and custom labels for food and beverage, healthcare, industrial and consumer-goods customers.

Each press carries three die-cutting stations, cold-foil positioning, non-stop unwind and rewind, and multiple hot-air drying units. The company chose to repeat the same configuration instead of mixing platforms, aiming for consistent output and standardized operator workflows.

Weigang general manager Ryan Zhou said repeat orders in a short span carry more weight than an initial sale, and noted the machines meet U.S. safety requirements. The report describes the presses as eight-color units, though one passage cites a 10-color configuration for one of them.
