Canon U.S.A. and DigiTech launch compact Texas ST2/X1 UV LED flatbed

The 50 x 100-inch flatbed borrows the LT3 series' structure and adds a standard auto-unloader, bringing high-volume capability to smaller shops.

Canon U.S.A. and DigiTech have introduced the Texas ST2/X1, a UV LED flatbed that shares structural engineering with the larger Texas LT3 series but is sized for shops with less floor space. It has a 50 x 100-inch zoned vacuum bed and accepts rigid boards up to six inches thick.

The printer uses Kyocera grayscale printheads and a six-channel ink layout, with CMYK standard and optional white, orange, gray or varnish. Canon cites a top speed of about 2,024 square feet per hour in a two-pass corrugated-sign mode.

An auto-unloader comes standard, and Canon says internal tests showed it clearing a standard board in as little as 10 seconds; pneumatic registration pins are also included. Canon still steers customers who need fully integrated print-to-cut lines toward the LT3, and no pricing or ship date was announced.
