Quad posts small Q2 sales gain and swings to a profit

Higher paper and logistics sales lifted second-quarter revenue 1% to $578 million, and the company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance.

Quad reported second-quarter 2026 net sales of $578 million, up 1% from $572 million a year earlier, with the gain coming mostly from paper and logistics sales. Net earnings reached $4 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, compared with a slight loss in the prior-year quarter.

Adjusted EBITDA slipped to $42 million from $43 million, while adjusted diluted EPS rose to $0.24 from $0.14. First-half sales fell 4% to $1.2 billion, reflecting a European divestiture along with lower print volumes and weaker agency solutions sales.

The company is adding a 100,000-square-foot packaging plant in Salt Lake City that it expects to have running in the fourth quarter. CEO Joel Quadracci credited automation, AI-enabled tools and cost control for productivity gains, and full-year guidance was left unchanged.
