Roland DG brings EU2-1000MF direct-to-board UV flatbed to North America

The successor to the EU-1000MF promises about 1.5 times the output at an unchanged price, aimed at shops printing rigid signage and displays.

Roland DG has launched the EU2-1000MF, a large-format UV flatbed for printing directly onto rigid boards, in the U.S., Canada and Latin America through authorized Roland DGA dealers. Roland pitches it as a way for high-output shops to skip roll-to-roll printing, laminating and mounting steps.

The machine takes media up to 48 x 96 inches (44 x 96 inches by default, with the larger size enabled by a service engineer) and up to 3.74 inches thick. A new high-definition printhead delivers roughly 1.5 times the productivity of the previous EU-1000MF, according to the company, though no absolute speeds were given.

It runs VersaWorks 7 RIP software and new E-US inks, and is priced the same as the outgoing model. Target work includes signage, retail displays, exhibitions and interior panels, and Roland also points to screen printers moving to digital.
